Dr. Dobson's Focus on the Family begins an e-mail sent out today with:
What does it take to be the most liberal member of the United States Senate – farther left than Ted Kennedy, John Kerry or even Hillary Clinton? For the answer, take a look at a man who could be the next president of the United States: Barack Obama.
Sen. Obama was recently named the most liberal U.S. Senator, based on the annual voting analysis by the non-partisan and highly respected National Journal. If he emerges as the Democratic nominee, one of the critical jobs of Focus Action will be to uncover the real Barack Obama—not the feel-good orator who speaks of “change” and “hope,” but the man who would be the most left-wing president in our nation’s history.
The e-mail ends with this:
Throughout our history, great Americans have stood up to grave challenges of all sorts. As this latest wave of secular liberalism threatens us, I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you in prayer and action – in defense of the family.
Thanks to Focus on the Family, we are finally able to see that the real Barack Obama is not a Christian interested in Jesus' message of social justice, but a godless far leftist liberal secular humanist who wants to destroy the family.
It seems to me that Obamianity is closer to Christianity than Dobsonianity.
I respect your feelings, Obama is a Stand up guy,,but he losing American right and left,
When he made it a point to go on every news media and say he NEVER Heard REV Jeremiha Wright, say those things,,, then a week Later,,,He make his speech and flat out says Yes He was in church when he made those Remarks right there and then ,, Barack Obama is just a politician who just trying to get Elected,,, He Lied to all American,,, A lot of American including including Republican,, if Obama made it about Race,,, the black Community Will lose the Race,,My self, being a Mexican American, I would love to see, A black President Barack Obama is not him anymore,,, He has No integrity,,, and already lied Live on TV,,,Obama want everyone to look Beyond Race,,, Thats where he loses people,,,He telling All American,,, Look beyond Race while he hold a double standard, when it comes to Race,,,All America See's that,, Like I said again and again,,almost 6 month ago When Don Imus said those things about the womens basketball Team,,Barack Obama said he should get fired,, Honestly I felt he should get fired,,,
but Jeremiah Wright we seen what he said about America and what He said about Hilary clinton personally He was way out of line,,, those comment are 1000 time worst than Don Imus,,, Obama refuse to Denounce him out right,,, then he tells every lets get beyond Race,,Barack has a double standard,,, just like Jesse Jackson & Al sharpton,,,
No American should be doing any kind of Remark like that,,, And I agree but when a black man does it and its happening more and more,, and In Jeremiah Wright, way worst,
there an excusee over excuses,
In other words,,, Barack Obama speech is saying "All White Americans Look Beyond Race"
While all black American live by there Double standard,,
Until Obama comes out clean, The Democratic party will remain split... I am in charge of over 100,000 blog pages that getting the word out against Barack Obama,, I monitor personally over 500,000 Negitive blogs on Hilary,,,geting the fact out,,,,If Barack Obama Really want Change,,,Then he going to Have to Start with him self,,,,

Como se dice Xtian Gas Bag? Anything this Dobson and his organization are for, I'm against....and vice versa. Jesus is turning in His grave over these pathetic excuses for humans. And what is wrong with what Jeremiah Wright said? I'm 63 and from Texas (and white)....I know what Black people suffered not that long ago. They have every right to say God damn America. Every right.

Why do Christianists like Dobson have such a hard time separating religion and politics? How is Obama's liberalism any more "secular" than Dobson's conservatism? Did Jesus preach about tax cuts and supply-side economics, or did he tell people to "render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s" and to help the poor?

>>>we are finally able to see that the real Barack Obama is not a Christian interested in Jesus' message of social justice,
And Republicans are? Tax-cuts to the very wealthy, hundreds of thousands without health insurance, bail-outs to corporations (corporate welfare), not supplying the troops with adequate equipments and medical care, contempt of privacy, contempt of public opinion. Where is the Jesus message in all that?
There is none. Obama appears to care more about Jesus's message both in words and deeds than Dobson ever could as well as many Republicans.
Dobson and Focus on the Family want to tell everyone how to live their lives. They don't care about ALL American families and they don't politically support those who care about all American families or individual freedoms, for that matter. You've been hoodwinked and your pocket picked as well.
BTW, if you listened to many of Rev. Jeremiah Wrights sermons you'd see a lot of positive messages as well as Jesus's messages. They carry Jesus's message to the community and help folks out with poverty, HIV/AIDS, drug problems, etc.
Of course, you have to look into all that to get a rounded opinion of the whole picture. Try it, you might see that there's a lot to like.

Dobson is a crank - I wouldn't believe him if he told me the sky was blue. Glad he's standing up for the torturing, free-spending, deficit inducing, warmongering, environment crushing, Constitution ignoring stances of modern conservatism. Just what every family should be taught...

>>>Dobson is a crank - I wouldn't believe him if he told me the sky was blue. Glad he's standing up for the torturing,
Dobson and many Republicans have hijacked Jesus's message for a long time. Matthew 7:15 in the Bible said:
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
An unjust war that we were lied to about, thousands of soldiers wounded, several thousand dead, hundreds of thousands of people killed - many children and innocent civilians. People who discriminate against gays, blacks, Hispanics - they take their flocks' money, live in huge houses; they give tax cuts to corporations where their CEOs make millions of dollars while their employees struggle to put their kids through college and live in a decent home.
They tell women what to do with their bodies, while hundreds of thousands of children are abused, go missing, lack foster care and are uninsured..all in the USA.
Jesus's message has been lost with Dobson, the megachurch preachers like John Hagee, and Republicans.
Matthew 24:11 "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Matthew 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

I'd love to see a woman or a black person as our president, but not Ms. Clinton or Barack Obama! They're like most liberal democrats--they can't tell the truth and they are far to the left.

Jesus isn't turning in his grave. The fact that he is no longer in the grave is THE central premise of the Christian faith. If Jesus was still in the grave, we would have no use for him, because he wouldn't be who he claimed to be.
That aside, why do people have a problem with giving tax breaks to the wealthy? For one thing, the tax breaks under the Bush administration were given to everyone, not just the wealthy. But even still, TAXES DO NOT BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT! When your employer takes money out of your paycheck, that is YOUR money-- you earned it. So the government isn't really GIVING tax breaks so much as it is allowing you to keep that which was already yours. What is the problem with this?
Also, even if the government was blatantly giving benefits to rich people (which I don't believe they're doing, by the way), why would you have a problem with this? I'm not rich right now, but I plan on making a lot of money in my lifetime, and when I do, I'd like to hang on to most of it and should I choose to give some of it away, I want to be the one to decide to whom it should go...after all, it is MY money.
- p.s.: sorry about the excessive use of caps.

Just another example of the Religious Right and their inability to produce anything intelligent. I find it curious that the Founding Fathers, so revered by Fundamentalists like Dobson, were NOT Evangelical Christians. Moreover, many were Freemasons (which is extremely distasteful to the Religious Right), but they gloss over that little inconvenient truth. It's also curious how the same Jesus-lovin' Fundamentalists ignore his instructions to show love and compassion to everyone. This country is supposed to embody freedom of religion, not freedom for the self-righteous Evangelicals who try to shove their nasty religion down everyone's throats. Dobson is a chief example of ignorant, hypocritical Fundy idiot.

There is only one God. I know that God, you should meet Him. I believe Dobson also knows Him.
