When you've got elementary kids saying, 'I know this is what Mom and Dad say, but the teacher, who's got a college degree and she's got a master's degree, she's accredited.'
Oh come on! What elementary school kid is gonna be aware of their teacher's masters degree??
And seriously...the number one influence on kids are their parents. end of story. If the parents tell the kid over and over that evolution is bunk the kid's not gonna believe it no matter what the brilliant, college degreed science teacher says.
Not everyone can afford private school. But once again, the SBC is finding one more thing to make their people feel guilty over. No one should feel bad that their kid(s) have to go to public school because they don't make six figures like seminary presidents, professors, and megachurch pastors.

"A little honesty on all sides would be really, really helpful here," Mohler said.
Oh, the irony.

Except for in the book A Common Faith, Dewey talks about God, as in a number of his books (in the positive sense).

This Mohler guy is actually a seminarian president? I wonder why is he allowed speak so ignorantly and arrogantly about things he simply doesn't understand?

Is it my imagination or is Mohler getting more and more bizarre?

Tenoch, the thing is...Mohler isn't ignorant at all. He's quite brilliant, has a quirky sense of humor, is personable, and is well-read. But I believe (and what makes me angry is) that he takes what he reads and uses scare tatics and worse case scenarios to convince Christians to believe certain things. Is he on a power trip? For certain.
He (along with others in the SBC) are getting more & more rigid in their orthodoxy.
